ŞÖVALYE ISLAND
Fifteen-minutes across the water from the port of Fethiye lies the sleepy island of Şövalye - an island straight out of Swallows and Amazons.
Şövalye is entirely pedestrianised with shady walkways through scented pine forests. No traffic means no roads: you cross the land by tracks, beaten or otherwise.
A leisurely walk from end to end takes 45-minute or so, along a coastline dotted with sand and shingle coves. In the crystal-clear water you can make out the ruins of earlier settlements dating back to late Roman times.
Inland, hidden amid the pines and carob trees, are the remains of a crusader castle, built by the Knights of St John after they crossed over from nearby Rhodes. Legend has it that the island became a base in the Middle Ages for renegade knights-turned-pirates.
You can circumnavigate Şövalye by canoe in about an hour or swim in two. The experience is just unique ; paddling or swimming over submerged houses, an old city wall, churches and a Roman cistern that was converted to a chapel during the Byzantine period. Elsewhere, old olive-oil pots and amphorae can be seen scattered across the seabed.

ECE BOUTIQUE HOTEL
Ece Boutique Hotel is to be found on the pedestrian-only island of Sövalye, which sits in the Gulf of Fethiye guarding the approaches to Fethiye harbour. The island is dotted with small sand and shingle coves. Ece enjoys the most spectacular position up on the hill on the waters edge, with every room vantage point providing the most stunning sea views. A five minute stroll from Ece brings you to the closest beach. Fifteen minutes beyond is the "Sunset Café" - a restaurant of good repute - which sits on a peninsula looking out to sea in one direction and across Sunset Beach in the other.

With the exception of Ece Boutique Hotel and couple of rental apartments, the buildings on Sövalye are all private residences, ensuring that no matter the time of year, this idyllic island could never be described as busy.

We have started accepting guests to our four apartments in 1993 with Tapestry Holidays, named as "Island Apartments". In 1996 with Simply Turkey in UK and with Nazar in Germany we were in service with seven apartments called as "Seagull". In 2002 Handan leaving her carrier in banking sector, renovated the apartments and given the name of our daughter Ece to the complex. We were marketed by Tapestry Holidays.

By 2006 we have purchased the adjacent land and transformed the seven apartments into a Boutique Hotel with 12 spacious deluxe rooms, a swimming pool, gardens and extended beach area. We started to work with Exclusive Escapes in UK.

ROOMS
The rooms are divided between two buildings and each open-plan room have a double or twin bed, a sitting area, fabulous picture windows to maximize the view, and a balcony with, of course, more superb views out to sea.

RESTAURANT & SWIMMING POOL
The terrace bar covered with wine leaves varenda, terrace restaurant, swimming platform and pool area are the focal point of the hotel. Guests are requested to book at breakfast for the special dinner that is prepared each evening with the freshest of ingredients.

PRIVATE BEACH CLUB & COMPLIMENTARY WATER SPORTS
Steps lead down from the terrace restaurant and terraced gardens to the sea. Here guests can relax by the waters edge enjoying the wonderful views and swimm over ancients ruins. (It is not a sandy beach). The active are well catered for by the complimentary water sports and will enjoy the challenge of paddling around the island, or perhaps swimming; which is a little harder!

AMBIENCE
Peace and quiet reign supreme. Away from the water, the only noticeable noise comes from the islands wildlife , birds in their hundreds, and a non-stop cacophony of cicadas. Ofcourse do not forget the sound of small fishing boats local engines. Sovalye is not like a tropical island thousand miles away the main land. In July, August and generally on Saturday-Sunday evenings music of weddings or parties from Calis Beach could be heard on the island.Especially the local music from traditional nomadic tent cafe in Calis. This is gives you the feeling that they are there across the sea, but you are not in.You are away and outside of the popular world. This gives Ece it's character.Just as the peacefulness of Şövalye makes it a favourite retreat for writers, so the quality of light has a special lure for artists: sharp; clear and shimmering.
At the tip of the island, a ten-minute walk from Ece, is the simple sandy Sunset Beach. Here, the Sunset Café provides the perfect vantage point from which to watch the sun dip below the horizon over a glass of wine and a table full of mezze.

Guests staying at the Ece during the day will enjoy the spectacular location and will spend time on the beach platforms close to the waters edge. Guests may work up an appetite by swimming or various complimentary water sports around the island, stopping at the occasional cove.

The fantastic location, combined with all the thought given to services makes our peaceful property a firm favourite with all the guests.
Considering the repetative visits of our guests to Ece Boutique on Sovalye Island we believe the new concept of Ece has rapidly become a popular place.
